Julie McGuire is a high school English teacher and backcountry skier who divides her time between NYC and the Catskill Mountains.

Since her twenties, skiing has provided her with a way of rebuilding herself and coping with stress. Every ordeal in life provided an opportunity to channel that energy into developing herself as a skier and adventurer in the mountains.

During the pandemic, she began writing about her outdoor adventures and how they developed a path to healing from recent traumas. She aims to bring visibility to women in the outdoors, share the skills she learns along the way, and encourage others to take solace from life's hardships through excursions in nature.
